Jordan / Ciobola Loop
This is probably one of the first hikes I went on when I moved to Sedona in 2001. It has now become a favorite hike that I do almost daily with my puppy, Summit. Although it is a very short hike, it affords you stunning views of Uptown Sedona, Bear Wallow Canyon, Snoopy Rock, Brins Mesa, and West Sedona, plus so much more. This is a great introductory hike to the beauty of Sedona’s red rocks. There are several alternate routes that can be added to this route if you wish to do something longer while out among the red rocks. This is a Hiking Tour.

Sinkhole, Seven Sacred Pools, & Soldier Pass Arches
This hike is one of Sedona’s easier excursions. Here you will gently stroll up through Soldier Pass into what is known as the Devil’s Kitchen. You’ll see the area’s largest sinkhole, then a casual walk up the trail will take you to the Seven Sacred Pools, where in the spring, and you’ll hear frogs mating in the various pools. Then a small climb towards Brins Mesa leads you to the Soldier Pass Arches. These magnificent arches cut through the rocks to the top of Brins Mesa, recently burned by forest fire. A crawl along a narrow shelf will connect you with the mesa above, but if you are afraid of heights, we can take an alternate route. This is a Hiking Tour.

For those new to the Sedona area, this is a great casual hike with views from every direction. With a 600 foot vantage point, Airport Mesa allows you to see most of the Sedona’s rock formations including Snoopy Rock, Bear Wallow Canyon, Courthouse Butte, Bell Rock, Cathedral Rock, Thunder Mountain, Chimney Rock, Sugarloaf, Coffee Pot Rock, Robber’s Roost, and Cockscomb. You will enjoy views of Wilson Mountain, Munds/Lee Mountain, and Bear Mountain all the way to the Mingus Mountains west of Cottonwood. Brins Mesa
This is another one of my favorite hikes and one of the first hikes I ever did in Sedona. I even spent New Years Eve 2001 atop this mesa with a group of friends. Starting off in “Uptown”, you climb to the top of Brins Mesa, which is located just south of Wilson Mountain and was burned during a forest fire in the summer of 2006. From the top of the mesa, you have beautiful views of the surrounding rock formations. There are a number of variations that can be added to this hike that include hiking to the top of the Brins Mesa Ridge, hiking down through Soldier Pass, or even hiking over to some Indian ruins in Lost Canyon.

Brins Mesa / Lost Canyon Ruins / Soldier Pass Trail / Jordan Trail
This combines all of the beauty and scenery found in the Brins Mesa hike, but added a whole lot more to it. Starting at the Brins Mesa trailhead we head up to Brins Mesa through a scenic and windy trail that takes you through the shaggy bark junipers and manzanita bushes. Once atop the mesa, we head all the way across the mesa through the burn section from the 2006 wildfire heading northwest towards some old Indian Ruins in Lost Canyon. From there we take a social trail towards Soldier Pass where we will see the Soldier Pass Cathedral in the rocks, the Seven Sacred Pools, and the sinkhole. After seeing the sinkhole, we head over to the Jordan Trail which takes us back to our starting point while seeing everything from a whole different perspective. This is a hiking tour.

Bear Mountain Trail
This is one of my favorite hikes. This is an invigorating hike to the third highest point in Sedona, at an elevation of 6,506 feet. Bear Mountain, named that by the Native Americans for its resemblance to a bear lying down when looked upon from above. This is a stunning hike that affords unparalleled views of the vistas below and beyond. This is a Hiking Tour.

Wilson Mountain
A truly fantastic hike that affords stunning views of Oak Creek Canyon, Sterling Canyon, and Sedona from high above. Wilson Mountain, Sedona’s highest mountain has an elevation of 7,122 feet. On this hike you will take the cooler “north” trail, hiking among the tall Ponderosa Pines as you venture upward. At First Bench, Flagstaff’s San Francisco Peaks become visible to the north. As you venture upward still, you pass a fire box and a cross roads in the trail. Head to the left, and the overlook offers a view of Sedona from high above. Head to the right, and you trek westward across Wilson Mountain until you get to the second overlook. Here you will see Sterling Canyon, Vultee Arch, Oak Creek Canyon, and the magnificent San Francisco Peaks. This is a Hiking Tour. NOTE: This trail is temporarily closed due to damage from the Brins Forest Fire.

AB Young
This is an epic hike taking you to the top of the Colorado Plateau, starting from the depths of Oak Creek Canyon adjacent to Oak Creek. After crossing the creek, head up a series of switchbacks that take you high towards the Ponderosa Pines above. As you head up higher and higher, the views get of Oak Creek Canyon expand as you are able to look up and down the canyon. Once you get to the top, travel along the west rim till you get to the fire tower where you can enhance your views further still. This is a hiking tour.

Mushroom Rock
Explore the hidden trails deep with Boyton Canyon. Here your guide will take you into Boyton Canyon, one of Sedona’s vortex sites. This is a great hike for those wishing to do something a little more strenuous. Once in the canyon, you will leave the main trail, to explore the area’s hidden canyons and vistas. Your destination, Mushroom Rock, is a gigantic rock that looks like a big red rock mushroom that you can sit upon. Beautiful vistas are abundant on this expedition. Not for the faint of heart.
